Security Deposit Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This page explains how the security deposit at Altair Residences works: what it covers, when you get it back and what can be deducted. It summarizes our standard lease. If anything here differs from your signed lease, the signed lease governs.
The deposit
Residents pay a security deposit, shown before you pay and in your lease. It covers unpaid amounts and damage to the home beyond normal wear and tear. The deposit is not a substitute for your last month’s rent.
A booking is confirmed once the deposit is paid.
Getting it back
After you move out, return your keys and give us a forwarding address in writing, we send you the remaining deposit together with an itemized list of any deductions. We do this within the time Texas law requires.
Move-out condition
Please leave the home clean and empty, with appliances cleaned, trash removed and nothing left behind. Normal wear and tear is never deducted. Cleaning, repairs for damage, unpaid rent or fees, and unreturned keys may be.
Common areas
For damage to shared spaces such as the laundry room, the pool area or the grounds, we work with residents to find who is responsible, so nobody is charged for damage they did not cause.
Not moving in, or leaving early
If you do not move in after booking, or leave before the end of your lease, the deposit may be applied to what you owe under the lease, subject to our duty to re-rent the home and limit the loss. See the Cancellation Policy.
